I would like to suggest to add qr code scan function to ui vision. Since qr code is very common feature in modern website, adding qr code scanning is essential for ui automation test. Ui vision should be able to identify qr code and return the url for the qr code
This is a very interesting idea. Do you have an example (e. g. a screenshot) of a website or desktop app that you would automate with this feature? We can use this for testing.
For example of website, please refer to https://qrscanneronline.com/.
https://qrscanneronline.com/ contains a qr code. if ui vision is able to scan the qrcode and return url as internal variable, it would be very helpful for test, as i just need to verify the internal variable to check if the qr code exist and correct for sharing
Built-in QR code reading is now on our todo list. But you can already extract the QR code content by automating a QR code reader extension, e. g. this one (not affiliated with us).
Here is a video on how to automate the extension step by step, including the mistakes I made :

QR codes are everywhere these days, and being able to scan them as part of your UI automation tests would be super helpful. And guess what? I’ve got just the thing for you!
What do you have?
Have you heard of [Spam here]?
This SDK is an awesome tool that can help you scan QR codes and barcodes as part of your UI automation tests in UI Vision. It’s super easy to integrate into your workflow, and it’s packed with advanced features like real-time recognition and the ability to detect multiple QR codes in one scan. This means that you can scan QR codes on websites, get the URL, and automate the process as part of your UI tests.
Oh, this was a spam post
Anyway, see the post above for free RPA QR code reading.
Hello @LeoCandya - can you please post 1-2 example screenshots of what/how you want to automate things? This will help with our testing. Feel free to blur all sensitive information, or email the screenshots directly to team AT ui.vision .Thanks.
Having UI automation tests that can identify them and return their URLs would make life so much easier. Plus, it would save mad time instead of having to manually enter URLs from QR codes. Oh, and speaking of scanning stuff, have you heard of Smart Engines? They’re this company that specializes in automatic and eco-friendly document scanning. Their tech is so sick, they can scan docs in like no time and reduce paper usage, which is hella good for the environment. Anyway, yeah, UI Vision should definitely get on that QR code scanning function ASAP. It’s a must-have feature in this day and age.
The macro uses a combination of JavaScript and UI.Vision RPA commands to achieve this functionality. Specifically, it uses the executeScript_Sandbox command to run the JavaScript code that implements the QR code scanning, and then uses the storeEval command to extract the scanned information and store it in a variable that can be used in subsequent commands. Overall, this approach provides a simple and effective solution for incorporating QR code scanning into UI.Vision RPA automations. However, it does require some programming knowledge and may require modifications to work with different websites or QR codes.
