Hello,
I have two questions:
(1) What version of Ubuntu are you using?
(2) And as a test: Does Ui.Vision in Chrome detected the XModule app?
Hello,
Thank you for your response
I am using:
Distributor ID: | Ubuntu |
---|---|
Description: | Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS |
Release: | 22.04 |
Codename: | jammy |
As for Chrome it does recognize the xFiles on the machine:
The old Version of Firefox 121.0.1 recognizes it as well, but after updating to 122.0 it does not work anymore.
Same machine on Firefox 122.0:
And same machine on Firefox 121.0.1 (after downgrade):
Does that help?
Best wishes

Hello, here is an update on XModules for Linux/Ubuntu and Ui.Vision:
On Ubuntu 24.04 browser automation with Ui.Vision for Chrome Versions works fine, including the XModules
Here is a video of Ui.Vision installation on Ubuntu and a computer vision macro test run:
Another video of XClickRelative in action on Ubuntu:
Ubuntu 24 was released with significant changes to the desktop screenshot functionality compared to previous versions. That is why (at the moment) the desktop screenshot command captureDesktopScreenshot does not work on Ubuntu. And without desktop screenshots all commands that use them e. g. XClick | image.png
fail in desktop mode. But in browser mode, screenshots and all computer vision commands work fine, as shown in the videos above.
Ui.Vision for Firefox has some additional issues with the XModules on Ubuntu 24, see the next post below.
All browser automation that does not need the XModules works fine in Firefox, too. But there are some XModules related problems:
These bugs are Firefox specific. So for now, please use Chrome on Ubuntu for RPA automation.
