Did you test with engin1 or engine2? Make sure to try engine2, it is usually better for Western alphabets.

Oh yes, that worked just fine!

I somehow got the impression reading the literature that Engine 2 is better for numbers and special chars.

Update 2023: Another good OCR software for such OCR tasks is the new OCR engine5.
