Is there a way to machine read the new engine status page

Before the update to the API Engine status page I was using a simple screen scrape to determine which of the free engines were up and then not sending any requests if they were reported down.

I think this has become more complex since the update to the page. Does anyone know of a machine readable version of this page, or can you retrieve the engine status from the API at all?

Hi, how/for what are you using the status? Depending on that, I might have a workaround.
