How RPA and OCR able to ease up the process for Finance, Procurement and Inventory departments?

I am from non-IT background but i am interested in automation and would like to know more detail about how RPA and OCR able to ease up the process for Finance, Procurement and Inventory departments. Example staff claim.

export report (excel format) from AutoCount Accounting System, is that possible? and thereafter need to compile with other excel report.
