Hi everyone,
Please don’t speak to me in too much tech language—I’m not super familiar with how this stuff works (I don’t even know what OCR means), I just know it’s what lets me copy words off the screen.
Lately, when I try to use the CopyFish Google extension, I often get one of two error messages:
- “No internet connection, or can not reach OCR server”
- “OCR request timed out”
My internet is working just fine, and occasionally, if I keep trying enough times, my request eventually works. But most of the time, it just won’t cooperate.
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
- Reinstalling the extension from the Chrome Web Store
- Re-copying the image/text several times
- Making sure my Wi-Fi is solid (it is)
For context, I’m on Windows, and here’s what I see under my settings:
- File Access Status: Installed (1.0.12)
- Desktop Screenshot Status: Installed (1.3.6)
I’m not sure if I’m supposed to install the “XModules” thing—I don’t know what that is, so I haven’t touched it.
I’d really appreciate any help—especially if you can explain it in plain English! Thanks in advance.
