Does the CopyFish Edge plug-in use back end processing (rather than performing the OCR locally on the PC running Edge)? And if so, where about in the world is that processing taking place?

In the Copyfish settings you can select between:
- Two different online OCR engines (default)
- Or: Install the local OCR module
For the online OCR options, we use our own OCR API., see also our privacy policy. All processing takes place inside the EU. OCR.space is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) EU Regulation.
If you use the local OCR engine, all processing takes place on your Windows PC or Mac, and no data ever leaves your machines.
