Hi - Could this program be used as a “macro” program incorporating image and text recognition in the macros? If “yes”, can the “macros” be designed using this program, or must it be used in tandem with another “macro”-type program?

Yes and yes. You can do image recognition as well as OCR.
The easy to understand docs would be a good place to get started as well as the videos and already-made demos
UIVision RPA is a complete automation solution, no other software is needed.
Now, if you want, you can combine the RPA software with another program via its API to automate even more complex tasks. But this is an advanced feature and you can safely ignore it when getting started.
